3 Fun & Easy Baking Recipes To Try With The Kids

If there’s one thing we KNOW children love... it’s a delicious baked treat! What makes it even tastier is when the little ones have had a hand in making and baking said treats from scratch *baking fun is simply the best kind of fun!*

That’s why we’ve compiled 3 super FUN, super EEEEEZZZZZIIIIIEEEE baking recipes to try with the kids.

We know that when snack time comes, they’ll zoom through eating all of their veggies for that treat - and we’re pretty sure a chocolate square of something yummy will go down well with a mug of coffee, Moms and Dads *you can thank us later!*.

Now, besides the high level of fun (and tasty treats) expected, there’s more to baking with your little ones than simply filling some time during the day. A family who bakes together also has the opportunity to:

  1. Bond. That’s right, enjoying some special family time in a relaxed, easy-going and FUN environment is a great way to create a calm environment in which you can chat to your kids and swop out stories.
  2. Practice arithmetic, but make it fun. Getting the little ones to count, add and subtract while accurately measuring out ingredients is a great way for them to practice their math. Getting to grips with how to use a scale and hitting those correct measurements is an important lesson in the science of baking too.
  3. Learn a new skill. Besides learning to make something incredibly yummy, baking teaches a whole lot of patience. One step needs to be completed before moving on to the next. And of course, waiting for those all too tasty treats to get golden brown in the oven and ready to eat, is the ultimate patience tester.
  4. Make chores jolly! Oh yes, baking is great fun but somebody needs to wash up, wipe down counters and get the kitchen back in tip-top shape before that cake comes out of the oven. Get the little ones involved to teach them that doing chores can be enjoyable too – and has its rewards.

So, all that’s left to do is put on those aprons, get out the mixing bowls and whisks, and get those little hands squeaky clean. Things are about to get a whole lot of delicious with our three baking recipes to try with the kids!
